I definitely am starting to feel like one of the old-timers in the mission. There are so many missionaries leaving, that trying to tell stories to new missionaries is challenging since they don't know anyone I'm talking about. Elder Camper was always saying all his friends were dead (gone home), and I think I'm starting to understand that a little bit better now.
So for transfer news, my companion, Elder Young is the new AP, which everyone kind of saw coming. Taking over the this area will be a little weird at first, but it's a great area so it should be no trouble at all. Elder Walker is training this transfer, so I have a 'son' and a 'grandson' in the Zone now, and that should be fun. Elder Smith is going back to Moreno Valley and we have some new missionaries coming to our Zone. They called 4 new Zone Leaders this transfer, which is a lot. Basically the whole Mission Leadership Council has been changed in the last few transfers I think. My new companion is named Elder Chapman and he seems pretty cool so far. He's been out for about 18 months, and he had a lot of success down in Hemet where he was serving before this transfer. He is excited to be here.
Vanessa did come to church, and our last lesson with her went really well. We answered some of her questions by reading in the Book of Mormon and I think we kind of blew her mind. But she is still reading, so we will just have to teach her about how the Book of Mormon is the way she will receive her answer. I think she is pretty worried about her family though because at the last lesson she asked if there was a way she could be "bridged" between the two religions or if she would have to leave it all behind.
Harry is doing really well. We met with him a couple of times and I don't see any reason why he wouldn't get baptized. Anthony is also doing really well, though he's having to fight really hard with some Word of Wisdom issues he's facing. But he has his heart in the right place and it's making it possible for him to overcome his struggles. We weren't able to meet with Gio this week unfortunately, but we will keep on him. He is very busy, so we really only have one chance each week to meet with him.
Sorry for such a short e-mail this week, transfers are always crazy. More news and pictures next week.
See you soon,
Elder Cornaby
