Elder Cornaby making the pancakes for breakfast on Christmas morning. There was plenty of food for everyone to enjoy . . . . even some hot cocoa on Christmas Eve!

For Christmas my companions mostly received a ton of food. Elder Haltli got a lot of Japanese foods because he lived there for a short time and one of his brothers served his mission there as well. I think we may have gotten a couple of games, but it was mostly clothes and food, except for my legos of course. I used them in my training at DDM today. There are lots of parallels between Star Wars and the gospel.
It's so weird that Christmas is only 6 days away, it's kind of unreal. I did receive the two packages you sent and I had Elder Herald open them to see if the things were wrapped. He took out all the gifts that were wrapped and then we duct taped the boxes shut to remove the temptation of peeking at the unwrapped items. I know this week will be rough on productivity with mission gatherings and holidays and all that sort of stuff, but you only have two Christmas's on your mission so you might as well make the most of them, right?
The Perris Ward itself is kind of small. It was split into two wards earlier this year, Perris and Lakeview, so now they are both smaller instead of being one huge ward. Something like 80% of the Perris Ward is less active, so it could be huge, there just aren't enough active members currently. We had our ward Christmas party this week, and that was pretty nice. We were able to meet a lot of people that way. We met the Bishopric and a few other families, and after Sunday I feel like I have a decent handle on the ward. We're also getting fed well so that is nice!
So for all the transfer news; I am going to the Perris Ward in the Menifee Zone. The ward is split, and I'm in the half that has a car whereas the other half is a bike area. Apparently it is one of the largest wards geographically in the whole mission. So that will be pretty exciting, but we will probably have to budget miles more carefully than we did driving around Corona. I'm also going to be in a trio again, with Elder Herald and Elder Haltli. Elder Herald has been out for 3 months and Elder Haltli has been out for 4 1/2 months. It will be interesting to be with young missionaries again, because it seems like once you've hit about 9 months, most missionaries are pretty much at the same level, but before that everybody has their strengths and weaknesses.
