So you heard about a lot of stuff on the Skype call for Mother's Day. As for the work this past week there were a couple of fun things. I went on exchanges in the Fruitvale area, so I was on a bike again. This time I was with Elder Gossett and it was pretty fun, though I was saddle sore again. I guess it takes a little while for your body to adjust to riding that much. It does mean that I've officially spent a full week of my mission on a bike though (pretty proud of that accomplishment).
Also, we were finally able to meet with a referral from the Moreno Valley Sister's that we received nearly two weeks ago. She is moving from there to here, and in the process of moving, both of her houses have been broken into, so she pretty much just has everything that's left stashed in a storage unit. But we are able to keep in regular contact with her now. She seems willing to learn and do things, and she would have been at church if it hadn't been Mother's Day. Her mom had a stroke not too long ago and is in a hospital in Riverside still.
This week we had to pause some of our investigators because they just hadn't been keeping their appointments, which is sad, but it's for the best in the long run. We're hoping to get some more solid people lined up this week. Our main goal for week six is to work hard and set up this area for next transfer. We also had a blitz in our area this past weekend and we found 11 potentials, so that should give us a starting point for people to contact.
Crossfit was a big highlight for this week of course. I did every round, except the round of 4 because at that point I felt like I wouldn't be able to breathe if I did those exercises. But then I ran the laps and kept going after that short break. And on some of the rounds people go so fast that I had to cut out a few of the exercises in each set, but I feel like I probably did a good 80% of the exercises at least, and did all of the running. It was pretty fun. But of course the best part of Crossfit was just to be able to see everyone. Some of these people I hadn't seen for quite a while. I took a picture with Elder Goodrich afterwards because his face is always super red anytime he exercises (even if he is only going to do 3 push-ups, it gets beet red).
Next week is my last transfer before coming home. Most of the people I'm currently serving with will still be here for next transfer, but there will be a few that leave the area next week. I start MyPlan this week (6 week program to prepare missionaries for moving forward with their lives) so I'll be forced to think about post mission life more and more. Can't wait to see you guys!
